چکیده
Arabinogalactan proteins (AGPs) encompass a diverse group of plant cell wall proteoglycans, which play an essential role in development, signaling, plant-microbe interactions, and many others. Although they are widely distributed throughout the kingdom extensively studied, remain largely unexplored lower plants, especially seaweeds. Ulva species have high economic potential since various applications were previously described including bioremediation, biofuel production, as source bioactive compounds. This article presents first experimental confirmation AGP-like glycoproteins provides simple extraction protocol lactuca glycoproteins, their partial characterization unique comparison to scarcely Solanum lycopersicum AGPs. The reactivity with primary anti-AGP antibodies well Yariv reagent showed great variety between glycoproteins. While amino acid analysis purified by ?-d-glucosyl similarity algal land neutral saccharide revealed glycosylation Surprisingly, arabinose galactose not most prevalent monosaccharides outstanding was presence 3-O-methyl-hexose, has never been exceptional structure implies specialized adaptation marine environment might bring new insight into evolution wall.

Nutritive Value of Some Rangeland Plants Compared to Medicago sativa
Awareness of the forage nutritive value of rangeland species is important to provide a balanced diet in order to meet the nutritional requirements of ruminants and to determine the suitable grazing time and rangeland grazing capacity. Hence, different laboratory methods were used to compare the nutritional value of Centaurea cyanus, Fumaria officinalis, Galium tricornutum and Vicia sativa as co...
متن کاملTumor Associated Mesenchymal Stromal Cells Show Higher Immunosuppressive and Angiogenic Properties Compared to Adipose Derived MSCs
Background: Differentiation, migratory properties and availability of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells (MSC) have become an important part of biomedical research. However, the functional heterogeneity of cells derived from different tissues has hampered providing definitive phenotypic markers for these cells. Objective: To characterize and compare the phenotype and cytokines of adipose derived MSCs (...
متن کاملA Family of Abundant Plasma Membrane-associated Glycoproteins Related to the Arabinogalactan Proteins Is Unique to Flowering Plants
We have identified a family of abundant peripheral plasma membrane glycoproteins that is unique to flowering plants. They are identified by a monoclonal antibody, MAC 207, that recognizes an epitope containing L-arabinose and o-glucuronic acid. Immunofluorescence and immunogold labeling studies locate the MAC 207 epitope to the outer surface of the plasma membrane both in protoplasts and in int...
